Did a search and read many posts but didn't see this scenario.
First time, no start with security light on. Disconnected and reconnected battery, got in car and it started up.
Second time (approx 1 week and 10 startups later) light on again and no start. Disconnect and reconnect battery but light comes on within a few seconds. Had friend immediately start car when battery reconnected and it has been OK so far on several restarts.

Does this help narrow down what I should be looking at?

I did clean the key. Battery seems fine but nothing has actually been tested yet.
