No, you do not need to drop the tank to install their harness. Also you can cut a door in the floor above the tank and make an access port to get to the pump. Just did it on mine (convertible) and it is way easier than dropping the the tank, there is a sticky about doing it.

Thanx. I was just told this. Was starting to panic. Just walked down to the shop and saw where it plugs in. But then again when it's up on a lift everything is easy to see.

You don't need to cut the access door to install the harness; I believe that pgerst thought you were asking how to install a new pump. The Racetronix harness connects to the pump cable that is external to the fuel tank. No need to drop the fuel tank.

Let me know if this Racetronix system works any better for you.

Just curious

I went from 11.3v to 12.2v at the pump with the harness; I think the pump output is more or less linear with voltage so equates to greater fuel delivery. Harness also has adapters to plug in a voltage booster if you need even more fuel (boost voltage even closer to 13.8.)

I also did their pump kit as well; I think the factory rating is 90lph (24gph), so in theory at 255 lph you can pump almost three times as much fuel with the Walbro but suspect the balance of the stock fuel system may limit that upper end.

I did mine quite some time ago, but I seem to remember, having to switch a wire out of one of the factory connectors.

Would the Racetronix Wiring Harness work with a stock pump? Is there any reason someone shouldn't use their harness with a stock pump.

Their harness will work with a stock pump. If your not having a fuel pressure drop issue under load then there's no need for the harness and expense.

I already have their kit, but I also have a new stock pump. I was just curious whether their harness would present any issues when used with a stock pump. I've been told that it should work fine.
