You could do like I did and take out the spare tire and jack that's in the rear.

I went to check the tire today (never used) and upon inspection I found a small dent in the rim which caused there to be a gap between the rim and tire. Weird though cause the tire is new and both the rim and stock scissor jack look like they've never been used before.

Thought about removing your a/c system?

I'd rip out my stereo too if I was concerned about cutting weight. Still need to unbolt the factory 12-disk changer and rear speakers that are still in the car.

Np.

I had the same issue when I wanted to make my other car lighter. Carbon fiber, window-less rear hatch, power steering delete, A/C delete, interior delete, the list went on for that car

Anyway, how much noise/comfort are you willing to put up with? You can rip out the carpet and sound-deadening/insulation material from your car. I remember when I was installing new sound deadening on my 2nd-gen Firebird that stuff weighed alot.

Door braces - cut them out, and front bumper support - maybe make a lighter one. At one time there was a list on line of all the stuff you could do and what it all weighed. Get a lighter hood. It's all been done before.

ABS delete and move the battery to where the spare tire and jack was. Also look into tubular suspension parts and k-member.

So instead of random suggestions, some of which compromise safety, how about a question. You already have done some weight savings but what is your target goal of weight reduction? What are your plans for using car after reduction of weight? Are any additional safety measures going to be added to the car after weight is removed? Knowing answers to these questions can help others to give you some realistic solutions to weight reduction for your car.

How about a fabricated k-member for 20+ lbs off the nose?

1998-2002 GM F-Body K-Member - LS1 - Road Race Version [2321] - $609.99 : UMI Performance, Inc.

And 8 more lbs from these:

I wouldn't worry about it. "redls" has not visited the site since his 09-06-2011 post above.

Hey injuneer. Thanks for the heads up. I thought I had a nice little plan there. Hopefully he stops back by...

Re: want to drop some weight of my 98 camaro Z28

Would be nice to find a potential customer. Not sure about this member. He joined and in a period of 3 days posted that:

89 iroc with LS1 swap have question

I recently took a stock 350 out of my iroc an put an LS1 engine in
Then he asks about reducing weight in his 98 Z28.

Then he disappeared.

Confusing.
