Whats it gonna cost to have my wipers fixed?

Just wondering from those of you that have had it done or that have general knowledge about it. My wipers no longer work after I tried to fix them. They werent resting when I turned them off and the board came to the conclusion it was the control board. Well I tried fixing it but never actually got the motor and board out. I put everything back on and then when I started them, they went up and then made a grinding noise and didnt go back down.
Also when I go to GM and I tell them what happened should I tell them I tried to fix them or will they charge me more cause they know I cant do it. Or should I just say they went up Grinded and wouldnt go back down.
Im wondering how much this screw up will cost me 200 bucks or less?

Since you already are well 'practiced' taking out the wiper motor, try to get a good used one from on here, or a boneyard...[ I got one a while back for 20+ actual shiupping...]
And yes, wipers not 'parking' is usually that circuit board, but it's hard to change right..
Another thing maker SURE that the ball/socket joints are really squeezed back on.. they tend to seem like they are on all the way, but pop off if not really seated... [it's like 2 pops to get em in right.. requires quite a bit of pressure..]

Well Im not practiced in taking out the motor. I could never get the thing above it. Holding the linkage undone. All the twisting and pushing must have screwed up the motor. Im just going to the dealer I dont want to go through all that again. And I cant wait to have a new motor shipped the cars my daily driver and I need wipers.
Oh well any idea on a price?

OK I thought u got the motor assembly out...
wellll gmpartsdirect [I don't BUY there just use for reference..I BUY from Jason Cromer..] lists 12367254 for 319.83 and their price[not including shipping ] is 159.91 +31.98 shipping = 191.89... Jason would probably be about175 ish [ha charges actual shipping... 7-8 bux about]

A local dealer is most likely going to charge you the list price [plus labor..] bend over, bring Vaseline..[MY guess? 500 bux!]
THey may not have one either?Though they can usually get it next day[so can you, from Jason.. or 2 maybe]
Of course it's sunday and tomorrow a holiday also..
That's why I suggested to do what I did [it cost me less than 30 bux total, to fix mine..]
Also pray you didn't mess up that linkage.. who know's what that costs? but it's plenty..
