I got a SES code of O2 heater malifunction on the passenger precat oxygen sensor. I have tried to remove it before but it seems rusted in. Im gonna try to blast it with some liquid wrench, then put on the special socket, start the car to let it warm up and use some extentions to get a wrench to get it out. Anyone have any better ideas? Otherwise Ill have to take it to the dealership and have them charge me an hour of time to take it off

 

Heat in up with a torch a little. So what if it burns the sensor all up. its no good anyway. Just be easy with the heat.

 

Liquid wrench should do it. Try heating with a torch?

 

That would be all fine and dandy, but there is absolutely no room in there to get any type of good angle on the sensor....Im so tired of it...and this roomless engine compartment

 

Definately soak it overnight with liquid wrench or WD-40 etc. Then warm it up if your still having trouble.

 

Get Longtube headers with O2 bungs problem solved. I tried to do that **** too to no avail, I'm just going to wait till I get longtubes to put the new ones in.

Let the liquid wrench soak in overnight. That should do it. Also use some antiseize when you install the new one

 

PB Blaster, and then start the car JUST before you are going to try to remove it, and then shut it off and go for it [that heats the PIPE not the O2 sensor as much]... u want the PIPE to expand [not the sensor?]

 

Right. If the whole thing is hot, it will be much harder to get off. WD-40 is not going to do anything. PB Blaster is a good idea.

 

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I GOT IT OFF!!!!! Im sorry I am soooooo excited. It took about 5 extentions, a knuckle joint, and the socket and I finally got it off. It was rather inventive how I did it. The car is actually pretty warm, if not hot, and where my arm had to touch the manifold, I just cooled it down with at piece of ice. It worked out...

 

I just used 2 long extensions and an impact w/a deep 7/8th's socket and it came right out

My thought too. Get some headers. Mine weren't hard to get since it is a single cat car but my friend who has a dual cat car claims they are impossible. He just ended up doing a single cat header conversion so he has plenty of room
