Brand new fully forged 383 piston slap
Brand new fully forged 383 piston slap
I just got my engine back together that I've been working on for months now, and even after the engine is warmed up I can still hear a noticeable knocking noise from the number 2 piston... i was just wondering if anyone on here knows what piston slap sounds like on these cars, i posted a youtube vid of the noise to show you what im talking about...
I'm still kinda lost for words, I've built half a dozen engines including 2 other lt1 ones so i feel confident I assembled it right... the only thing that could cause this is loose piston to cylinder clearance, right? All the machine work was done by a reputable shop here in Texas, G&G Performance Engines...

Re: Brand new fully forged 383 piston slap
I just wanted to follow up on this post, I bought a stethoscope and listened around the engine. It turns out that one of the rods is hitting the oil pan, I have a moroso pan which I thought was cleared for a stroker but who knows
