New top end, "minor" detail questions

I'm putting a set of LE2 heads on top of my stock bottom end + LT4 Hotcam.

Lloyd said the heads were milled .030 and he suggested using Impala Head Gaskets. Anyone have opinions on those gaskets and/or have a bit higher end alternative of with the same thickness?

Any issues with reusing the rocker arm studs that are currently on my stock heads? I'll be reusing the 1.65 rockers that are already on there, I have about 30k on that valvetrain.

How about head bolts, any recommendations? Purchase new stockers? Go get a set from ARP?

Thanks in advance.

It would not be a good idea to reuse the stock head bolts since they are TTY. And since you did not know that i would say That if lloyed said to use A certine gasket with his heads i think i would. You picked him to port them and you doubt him? not smart at all. LT4 cam with those heads are a waste since there are much better extream energy cams avalible and make better TQ/HP.

Whoooaaaaa... cool off.

I don't see anywhere that he said he was reusing the original head bolts... He asked 1) NEW stock head bolts or 2) new ARP bolts. Seems like you owe him an apology. Rest of the post is just as insulting.

Seems you don't know that the stock head bolts are not TTY.

OP, get some ARP rocker studs and head bolts.

Here's an old post:https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...ight=TTY+bolts

"uses torque to angle method" and "uses TTY bolts" are not the same thing.

Been covered a million times, but the myth refuses to die...

I thought TTY bolts require torquing them down first then tightening them down so many degrees. Hows that different than the torque to angle method?

If you just torque them like regular head hold they will snap and break off in head (first hand experience at this, but lucky enough there was enough sticking out to get some channel locks on the sucker and pull out.) Lesson Learned there.
