coolant temp
coolant temp
two questions, one is, where the oil cooler line came into my water pump, i removed it and tapped it with a 3/4 and pipe plug. now i want a new autometer temp gauge, would that be an alright place to put the sender?
two is, which is the outlet on the water pump? the one that points to the drivers side right? the thermostat neck is the inlet correct?

Shoebox has a diagram of the cooling system hoses, showing the flow direction:

I put a second coolant temp sensor in the line coming from the back of the heads, but on a 94, that's a direct shot, it doesn't go through the throttle body first.
The sensor is in the brass "tee" in the lower left corner of the photo.

so the hot coolant come out of the drivers side hose, into the rad, cools, and goes back into the engine throught the water neck at the thermostat? if im understanding it correctly....?
is the steam line what your talking about injuneer? if so, wouldnt that be in-accurate being that water and vapor travel through that line? maybe not tho im not sure...
but the 3/4 hole in the water pump where the oil cooler hose used to be, the autometer gauge has this fitting with the gauge, so it would be easy to use that location, im just wondering if that would be an accurate location for the sender?? it would be just under the hottest coolant right? that is if in understanding the diagram correctly.... thanks for the help!!
