My newly aquired '94 z28misses like crazy when I give it throttle at low rpms. This especially becomes a problem when in fifth and sixth gear. I changed the plug wires and put on a diff distributer and still, same problems. I have a horrrendous exhaust leak at the drivers side manifold (my manifold is warped!) Haven't toyed with the thought that this could be related to it missing but. . . . Any advise would be appreciated. THANX

 

Exhaust leaks before the O2 sensors cause major problems with the A/F ratio. It probably running extremely rich because of the exhaust leak.

How low RPM are you "giving it throttle" in 5th and 6th gears? Those are overdrive gears, and not intended to provide significant acceleration. If you have any weakness in the ignition system, lugging the engine at low RPM in 5th or 6th gear is sure to show up the problems.

Have you ever had it scanned for codes?
