[German Camaro Driver] Rims in Winter cracked, need new steel ones
Hello,
maybe my questions sounds a little bit crazy but im here in germany and to find the right stuff isnt easy.
I drive a 1999 Camaro Z28. For the winter season i use the original chrome rims (16x8, +55mm offset, 6,875in backspace) with winter tires. For summer i use American Racing Torq Thrust II (17x9,5, +44mm Offset, 7in Backspace).
After that winter the chrome rims crack so much, that the chrome fall off like cornflakes. So im interest on steelrims, that "looking good too".
My interest fall to cragar but i dont think they wont fit (biggest offset around +22mm), so dont know how i search for steelrims who fit to my 99 Camaro Z28.
That "nascar- or racingstyle steelrim" i think is the best compromise for winter and looking. Thats the 2nd time the wheels crack in 5 years but after the 1st one the insurance pay. Now its to old and i need new ones. BUT NEVER these alu- chrome S**T.
I try to use at summitracing (ive ordered some times there) via vehicle fit or manual part types. I dont find anything wich i know that will fit.
So maybe anyone of you can help me.
Thanks!

Hey thanks for reply.
The problem is, that i must use a rim that will fit for the car.
In the tire-FAQ is written, that at 8in Width a offset from +29 till +55
is ok.
My problem is, that i dont know wich rim i can use. For winter it must be cheap but not so ugly then the original steel rims. I hope anyone of you can show me some examples wich rims i can use.
When i find a rim with the right offset and bold pattern in 16x8, then i didnt know, if the rim real fit to the car because maybe the brake is to close to the rim or something like that.

Buy these. Link They will fit as long as your brakes are OEM.
Or any other stock z28 wheel. They are cheaper, stronger, and probably lighter then any steel wheel you can find. The finish has a better resistance to peeling then chrome. Chrome has always been a sh!tty finish when driven in winter.
