So I want C6 wheels on my 4th Gen but Tires are $$$!!!

Is Nitto kind enough to offer us camaross.com members a discount? Like, oh... 50%???

So I've read here about C6 wheels on 4th Gens, and even found a really nice set for what I think is a great price... $550 to my door for perfect polished GM 5-spokes from a 2005 C6, no curb rash etc.

But then I priced tires and... Oy! Min $1000 for 4 tires (18.8.5/19x10 wheels) and that's entry-level Kumho's!!! Priced at tirerack.com so I'm assuming there isn't anyone out there that's going to be significantly cheaper?

But same/same on replacing the stock 17" tires on my '97 SS... I'm going to spend $600 for new tires alone so I hate to put that into 17" wheels that look like crap. I like the style but the finish on mine is bad and of course bigger is always better...

Anyway, anyone out there that can point out a good deal on tires would be greatly appreciated. I lost my soul (and most of my stuff) in the divorce, already sold one kidney, and I'm assuming my ********* won't bring much on ebay so I don't have much to barter with!!!

If you like the style of the factory wheels just get them refinished (powder-coated) any color you want for a lot less than new wheels.

I actually looked into that, and it's still almost a wash. I'd have $800 in nice (like new) wheels and tires, but they'd still be the 17" stockers. Which are nice and I like them, don't get me wrong.

But for $1200 I think I can do the C6 wheels and tires, and I'll have nice new 18/19" wheels/tires.

If you want the best possible deal on tires and you're local to the Orange County/Los Angeles area, this is my source for tires.. They will do you right.

Ask for Kevin and tell him you were referred by a fellow Camaro owner because they have the best prices in town.

I'd advise either checking for a used set with decent tires on Craigslist.com or Ebay.com(I've seen them for around 1K with decent tires). Or again, check Craigslist or Ebay for used Corvette tires. There are some decent prices out there. I lucked into a set of 2006 polished C6 wheels & tires, 4,000 miles, for 800 bucks! I lovem!!!
