will LS1 lifter trays work on an LT1?

I guess it comes down to the spacing of the lifters? Are LS1 lifters the same as typical gen 1 and gen 2 SBC? I dont know...but I want to add them to the stroker before it goes in. I heard someone makes them for gen 1 SBC, does anybody have any practical experience with this? Know where I can get some?

Also, can I use a different timing cover (without a hole for the waterpump) if I am going to run a electric pump????

Thanks, Charlie

Ls1 style lifter trays wont do you any good on a wet sump lt1 you still have to pull the intake to get the oil pump drive out. Gm makes a set like you are talking about though they are for use an a regular sbc but will work in the lt1. I guess you could still use them but it doesn't do any good to keep the lifters up if the intake has to come off anyway.

On the timing cover about all you can do is drive a freeze plug in or make and epoxy a plug in to block the hole off. There are no aftermarket covers available as far as I know.

You could also have it (timing cover), welded. Wouldn't take 30 seconds.
