Smile Car did not run for 4 years.

Hello. I want to start by saying that I am finally back to the board after 4 years of being away.( not the jail) Nice to be back.

My car was sitting for 4 years without being driven anywhere. Now it is time to get it back to life.

1. What do I need to check to start driving? (Oil, coolant, breaks, plugs, wires, oil filter are ok)
2. After so many years of just sitting did it loose any power? Would it ,sort of, wake up after a semi long run on a freeway? Get the juices flowing...
3. My front lights got kind of yellow with some white powder/resedue stuff on the inside of the lights. Is there any way to get rid of that? OR Is it just normal time tear'n'wear sort of thing?
4. I have a jet chip. I am sure it has reset after such a long time battery being dead. Will it set itself up again after I drive my car for a while? I remember the manual saying that once you hook it up it will automatically adjust. I want to get the same performance out of it. For it to give maximum benefits do I need to drive the car in an incraeased mode of acceleration for a while? (drive it like you stole it)

Any other suggestion would be greatly appreaciated.

Thank you.

Well, welcome back! I'd suggest doing this..

-Oil Change-
-Check the tires for dry rot and flat spots-
-Look under the hood at the belts, make sure they are still in good condition-
-Check the coolant for rust-
-Check the spark plug wires for cracks-
-Drain the old fuel out the tank, and replace fuel filter-
-Check hoses under hood for cracks or stress-

Thats I'll I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

Good idea

Thanks for the reply. The fuel filter is a good idea.
