i was driving on the interstate going about 65-70 saw a cop in the media so i took my foot off the gas, when i did i saw the speedometer jump a little bit and i put my foot back on the gas but it didnt respond. i paniced a little wondering wtf is wrong. so i slide the shifter to nuetral and tried to start the car and it made the noise that the car is already started. i pulled off the side of the road, tried to restart the car but it wouldnt turn over. i just put 20 bucks in gas in it. i noticed a smell of gas when i got out the car, a little stronger than normal. i dunno if that is relevant, but the car cranks it just wont turn over. can anyone help me with this issue. the car is automatic as well.

 

Why would you try to start the car if it was already running? Did the car die while you took the foot off the gas or did you pull over and turn the car off?

Hows the battery life and alternator? Ever check up on either of them

 

i thought the car had died, because it didnt respond to me putting my foot on the gas. the battery was great, it wasnt dead, cuz i tried to crank it several times after that and it sounded like it wanted to start but wouldnt turn over.

 

Was it making repetitive clicking noises?

 

are you talking about a clicking like the battery is dead, an u turn the key? if so then no. my brother just helped me check it out, we pushed the cap thats under the hood to check if the fuel pump was working and the fuel did squirt out. i undid the cold air intake an had a lil starter fluid, it almost cranked. its gotta be a fuel problem i think but still need help
