Question on 1.6 rockers on stock cam...

I searched and couldnt find info for my question. Im looking to go ahead and put 1.6 roller rockers and springs on my car now and then later on add the cc305 cam. What would be a good roller rocker/spring kit for that? Im on a budget and need the best bang for the buck.

IMHO, buy the springs you will use on the 305. That way you won't have to buy two sets and do the work twice.

Echo what Shoebox said. Just did a valve spring swap tonight. While it wasn't the worst thing I ever did, I couldn't see doing it twice.

I know they can with the use of a certain air tool to hold the valves up.

ok now what springs/rockers to use. Also to go to roller rockers i need studs too correct?

I just did the same thing you plan on doing. I recommend staying away from lunati springs. I have thier part #73943 springs, and 3 of them have snapped. They have less than 500 miles on them. I'm running a stock cam and 1.6 RR's.

Well I found on Shoebox's site the info I needed I believe. One thing though, if you buy the spring kits that match the cam do you still need to check it with the height micrometer?

Yea I think its important to check install height everytime you install a set of springs. My only exception might be if I installed a set of LT4 springs with the stock hardware. Otherwise I would check.
