New style LT1 oil pan -aftermarket

I was browsing ebay and stumbled on this part:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250297164898

I contacted the shop that sells it, and they say it's a direct replacement for the LT1. Anyone use it? What do you all think? I specifically asked about the oil pickup, and they assure me it's a direct replacement - no fitment issues.

It looks great!

I contacted the seller again...after closer examination, I don't see a provision for the oil (sensor) level switch, do you?

I'm waiting for his reply...would be great if it was a direct replacement, but now I'm thinking this will not work.

I wonder if he can make one for us? I'll find out...

IMO the stock pan is a better piece. The diffuser in that pan will not do as good of a job as the internal baffling in the stock pan. Another issue with an uluminum oil pan is durability. It may be pretty an dissapate heat better, bvut if you have a low car and bang up the pan, a steel one will take SOME abuse and dent. The aluminum will more than likely break, possibly causing an engine failure.
