Making My Regular Centerbolt Chrome Rocker Covers Work (Notch For Alt)

I bought a set of nice chromies a while back for my build. and they look SWEET.. I got the motor all built now and I went to put the alt back on before I put the motor back in and found out that the alt does not clear it. grr. I kinda knew it wouldnt. so I was gettin ready to put stock back on and I came acrross this old auction (from some on this site) and found that these are basicly the same covers.. did he just notch it himself?

I have read where you can grind the back of the alt to make them fit. If you do it make sure you take the alt. apart and get the shaveings out of it. IMHO I would just buy some that fit.

You can either take them to a fab shop and have them clearanced or you can buy a alt relocation kit. You can also use the BFH mod to them and make them fit.

i would heat them up, and hit them with a dead-blow hammer.

I have a set of covers that look almost identical to those. They fit just fine and look great.

mine look identical but they dont have the little place for the alt to fit.

I tried heating it and hitting it with my deadblow. ended up cracking it. so I was then going to cut out everything on the inside and just bolt it over the stock one for looks. but then I realised I dont care how it looks. I just want it to be fast. its to much work for somehting that wont do anything for my performance. its not a show car. so, I just put stock back on.
