Installing Cam Package - Timing chain & valve question
I started to install the package today and got the cam in. the car has 95,000 miles on it but the timing chain looks pretty good and its really beefy compared to my cousins stock LS1 that was thinner than a bicycle chain. I'm thinking of just leaving the timing set as the teeth don't look to worn, plus i was surprised at how beefy the chain was. Could it be aftermarket or is that how the LT1's are?
Another question. I'm putting my new spring's, valve seals, etc on and on the first one the seal went on fine and the valve moves up and down freely but if i lift it all the way up it will stay. On the next one, even with the new seal i will lift it up and it will just slide back down. doesn't seem like there is play, but is that a signal for wear and lead to failure, should i worry?

As long as you didn't damage the seal, I think it's fine. I'm in the middle of my CC503 install and I just put new valve seals on mine last night. The new exhaust seals held the valve well, but the new intakes would not hold the valve very well. I had the same thing happen. I have 97K on my Z.
