Opti, ICM, Coil?
Opti, ICM, Coil?
Havnt driven my car for a week, so i picked it up the other night and took it home. Car drove fine, Next morning Started the car drove about a 1/2 mile when the car started acting up. If i tried to rev the motor past 1800rpms in any gear the car would shake violently. Still had another 3miles to go to get my other car at this point. Car idled fine the whole time, but anytime I would try to rev past 1800 the car would shake like crazy almost like it was starving of fuel.Keep it under 1800 the car seemed to be "okay". So made it home and parked it. Went back the next day and tried to start and would only get cranking. Hooked my fuel pressure guage up to the rail and go 40psi with the key "on"
I then ran the Opti test on Shoebox's website
On A & D I was only getting 5v
I also hooked up my laptop and ran freescan and no codes were present.
Is their any tests to run to see if the ICM is bad? I still wanna run the Coil Continuity Test which I will do later
I replaced my Opti 7/17/07 @ 144,389 miles. It seems it may have taken a dump 7/17/08 @ 147,589..God dam Opti

Check for dc voltage with a digital meter at harness terminal "A" to ground and and also "D" to ground. Note: Use a high impedance meter (at least 10 megohm) when dealing with the PCM.
Result should be 10v dc or more on both terminals. If you get no voltage, use the diagram and chase back toward the coil and the ignition fuse. Power for the ICM comes from the ignition fuse and through the coil, so any of that could be bad.
