LT1 alternator housing

hey guys

i took apart my alternator so that i could powder coat the housing. looking at the below pics, is this housing going to be reusable? or do i need a new housing? what GM alternators have interchangeable housings? thanks guys.

looks reusable to me. That's where the front bearing sits inside and nothing touches that jagged edge you have there.

Typically you can tell rebuilt alternators because they will have the same condition that you show. But, to fix this the rebuilder puts a cage on the back of the bearing to keep it in place. Without the cage, I think you may be in some trouble. You might talk to a local rebuilder to see if you can buy just the cage. If you have that, it would be completely usable. Without it, I think the bearing will eventually walk out of the counterbore.
