replacing water pump

how hard is it to replace the water pump on a 95 3.4L camaro
does the power steering bracket has to be removed

Its not too bad, I had to put one on mine about 2 years ago. I dont think I had to pull my p/s pump bracket, If I remember right, there was just enough room to get around it. Not as bad as it looks. I didnt even pull the radiator. If you run into problems just post back here or pm me and I'll help ya out. I think the hard part was getting the tensioner out of the way, because theres one bolt behind it when its in its resting position. Just put your rachet on it and hold it over and stick another rachet on the bolt behind it. Might be easier with another set of hands, but I did mine alone. Im guessing you didnt have any luck bleeding the air out of the system. Just remember those steps when you get your water pump back on and you should be good to go.

how do you get the bolts from behind the p/s bracket that hold the water pump to the block??? am having trouble because there is only about 2 in. of room in there to take them off.

ok I just went out and looked at mine again, refreshed my memory a bit. Take the coil packs and control module off, then you should be able to get to the P/S pump bracket bolts. I think there was one on top under the coil packs, one on the bottom under the pump, and one on the side of the head behind the pump. IF I REMEMBER right, that should be it. I do know it wasnt too bad when I did mine, and wasnt as hard as it looked like it would be. Just a little hard to remember it exactly when I own a shop and seen a few thousand cars since I've had that one apart Let me know if you still need help.

edit- you dont have to take the pump and bracket all the way off, just set it to the side a little. You dont have to unhook any lines or anything.

firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6 Passenger side cylinders front to back 1-3-5 Dr. side 2-4-6, Coils, from left to right, 1-4 6-3 2-5

thanks man thats all done but the thing that i notices today is that the temp gauge isnt working anymore i dont remember moving anything near it??

the temp gauge sender is on the cylinder head behind the power steering pump, check your plug there. If it still dont work, then the sensor might be bad, check your wires.
