2001 LS1 V6 engine to 99-02 Corvette LS1 V8

I have been thinking of dropping about $3,000-$4,000 down on a C5 Corvette engine. I was wondering what all I would need because I know it wouldn't just drop in like I would love it to do. I know I could buy a z28 but my Camaro already has some improvements and I think riding around with a Vette engine would be pretty badass.

Avoid the Corvette premium.

The "must needs" are engine with mounts/crossmember, trans, harness, computer. Plug/bolt it all in. You may want a posi gearset as well, but the rear axle is the same other than that. A POS 10-bolt with discs.

You may want a 155 or whatever the higher speed gauge cluster is as well.

Why waste your time with all that work?

Sell your car and buy an ls1 z28...Cars are never the same when you start making huge modifications, even factory based ones.
