Dual exhaust X-pipe dumps w/ cats, crossmember?

Hey, does anyone here run cats with their universal X-pipe kit? I was thinking of getting the Summit universal X-pipe kit in 2-1/2" and putting dual cats on it to go with my Pacesetter headers. If so, how did you make out with ground clearance? How far back did you put the cats? I would really prefer to run cats for noise level reduction, smell, and yes the environment too.

I've also noticed that many people remove the cross brace or cross member where the stock exhaust fits over top of. Isn't this cross member required for chassis rigidity? Those that have removed it to make more clearance for the X-pipe, did you notice any difference in chassis flex?

The cats need to be as close to the motor as possible to work efficiently, because they need to be hot to work. In other words they need to be right behind the headers. I drove my car around for awhile without the tunnel brace and could definatly notice a difference. I would advise to keep it. There are some tubular versions out there that may fit your application better than the stock piece. Worst case scenerio you could have someone make you one that would fit perfectly.
