Safer/Better: LT4 Conversion Kit or Supercharger

Which is better and/or safer. I am thinking about the LT4 conversion kit because I hear that the supercharger is not good for a stock LT1 because it "doesn't like boost".

Any thoughts?

LT4 conversion kit is garbage.

I agree a supercharger is not the best way to make power on a stock bottom end LT1.

Search the forum (widely discussed) in regards to heads/cam packages.

I like the lt4, i bought a jasper shortblock and put lt4 heads/intake bone stock, and ran 12.1 on street tires. very reliable too

As Javier said, neither is really your best bet on a stock bottom end motor.

High compression motors like the LT1 won't allow for much boost and weren't designed for any.

The LT4 conversion kit is just an expensive heads and cam kit. It isn't a bad product, just you can do much better for a lot less money.

If you're just looking at adding a cam, rockers, springs and leaving the heads stock, then the LT4 HotCam kit is a decent bang for the buck cam package...

You'll need a lot of supporting mods like Headers, Cat Back, and CAI...

Start reading all the threads about cam upgrades and then start asking more specific questions.

I just read your sig and saw that you already have supporting mods and an aftermarket cam.... Time to look at heads from EPW or AI

If you want to learn more about boost, spend some time reading the forced induction area under specific technical discussion.

for the 2500 for the lt4 topend you could get a le2 or le3 setup and go way faster.
A blower is just asking for with an lt1, 10.4.1 is ideal.

I agree, if you are going to put that kind of money down for a heads/cam setup, there are way better options out there.
