SLP cold air vs K&N Cold air

I am wondering i have a K&N cold air intake on my car. I'm not sure if i should switch it to a SLP I have heard the SLP's make more power. Is this true?

Sorry But I cant agree with that. If that were the case everyone would b using the $35 ones from ebay. If you stay with the more commonly used ones you should see a prety even gain, but the SLP is alot more expensive than the KnN

right i have a K&N on my car right now. i have a friend who has a brand new SLP he bought and crashed his Camaro before he could put it on. he was willing to sell it to me for 200. i was curious if it would be worth the switch from a k&n to the SLP

I would save your money, or put it towards something else, like a cut out and a madz28 tune. Those two things will make more power per $ than switching to the SLP. The KN will make the same power as the SLP. If you want to make sure your KN is yielding every ounce of hp then just remove, clean, and re-install

I don't know about you but to me it looks like the SLP intake has a better flow of air. No obstructions, no change of size in any way to change the flow of air as it comes in, nothing but straight through air flow.

The K&N FIPK is a good CAI, but for me the big pinch ruins it for me.

I bought an SLP for my car. I thought it looked better than the other intakes. I was kind of surprised by how much it weighs. It's certainly well put together. I doubt there would be any significant performance difference in comparison to the other intakes that are available.

They are definately not the same. The E-bay stuff is some guy putting stuff together and the others like SLP,K&N,LPE etc. do extensive R&D work to give the best amount of flow.
I do like the SLP however the fact that it is metal kept me from purchasing it.Plastic does not retain heat the way metal does......You get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked my SLP cai, only problem was the thing got HOT. If i were to do it again, I would either go homemade with a conical filter, or something cheaper. I don't feel the intakes are worth the money they cost.

the SLP can be a pain in the **** to change/clean the filters cause u gotta pull the plastic splash guards from under the car to get to em'

I have a SLP and like

Saw u have 1993, hope ur buddies car is a 93 aswell, otherwise that intake wont work because it will be too short since 93's are speed density cars with no MAF
