Water pump R&R question

I've got everything out of the way and disconnected. The problem is that on the drivers side of the pump, there is a stud holding it in place. The pump is loose and wiggling around the stud.
My question is, how do I get that stud out of there? Do I just put two nuts on it and back it out? If so, what size are they?
Thanks in advance for any help, Don.

I've got the air pump off, but it looked like the area it attached to was part of the block. It does extend out from the block, so I looked to see if it was removable, but couldn't see any attachments. It looked like an integral part of the block. However, it is an old beater of a 96 Buick Roadmaster, so it's got a good bit of grunge in there.

There should be 6 bolts holding the WP on. One of them on the driver side is a studded bolt that is one of the 3 mounting bolts for the air pump. Since the air pump is already off, you should be able to unbolt the stud with a deep socket. I think it's 9/16". If that's not what you're talking about, there are also 2 guide pins that align the WP, but those shouldn't be tight at all. Try spraying some carb cleaner up in there to clear away the sludge. Maybe post a pic so we can see what you're talking about.

I've got all six bolts out, and the pins aren't sticking. I went out and got a pic of the stud I'm having the problem with. You can see the stud sticking out from the "bracket". Behind it is a nut, but I can't back it out with this piece of metal in the way.

OK, I'm not normally stupid. Honest. When I took that pic, I just held the camera down in the engine bay and aimed it at the stud. It wasn't until I posted the pic that I saw the other bolt, sitting there and mocking me. The flash gave it away. I went out, found it, and sure enough the pump is now on my sidewalk.
I'll post a pic of it in a second and we'll see if anyone can tell me why it was putting Old Faithful to shame.

Now comes the hard part, where i put everything back together. Here's that pic of the pump.
BTW, Thanks for all the help. This forum is just as good, and the people are just as helpful, as ever.
