Requirements for 383

I searched and could not find everything I needed so ill ask them here, as alot of you know I spun a bearing a few months back and have been saving. Well, now its time to buy just have a few questions (which will turn into like 50) it will have nitrous ran through it and im going to use JE nitrous pistons ill ask my engine builder about which one's he recommends for that.

Rod length- what is the lenght is it 5.7 or 6.0, is shot peened, or polish and shot peened better. Do I need floating or press fit. Im thinking of buying this rod will this do? Compstar 6.000" H-Beam Connecting Rod, 2.100" Crank Pin, .927 Wrist Pin, ARP2000 Hardware. Iv done some searching through the internet and it appears I need a 6inch rod?

Crank- Will any crank work as long as its 3.750 stroke and 1 piece rear main? Im thinking about getting some sort of Forged crank, Iv looked at lightened callies cranks which I know are the best or close to it, iv also looked at the lunati sledgehammer cranks.

Im getting the rotateing assembly now, iv also thought about just buying some eagle H-beams, new cast steel crank, JE pistons and hitting it with a fairly large shot of nitrous. Your opinions?

You should look into the Compstar prebalanced assemblies available by our vendors here.

Nice kits with quality Compstar cranks/rods, Mahle pistons and generally include bearings as well.

I believe VRE carries 'em.

You can use a 6" or 5.7" rod, you just have to select the correct piston to go with it. On the 6" rod the pin goes .3" higher up in the piston.
