New personal best, track times inside, now with video

Well with the advice of ABA383 on here, I went to Hattiesburg Miss today.

I learned a TON about the car today, Once I got it 60 footing consistantly I started playing with fuel pressure I lowered it first, car slowed down, raised it past where it was and it ran it's best of the day. Here is the slip.

60ft 1.53

1/8 mile 7.02@97.04

1/4 mile 11.02@123.73

One more pass and I would have had my 10 sec slip, ONE MORE and they shut the track down because of a HUGE oil down. ANd we came home. I raised the fuel pressure again but had to load the car up.

Best 60Ft 1.51

Best mph 123.98

Not bad for a 3800lb drag radial, pumpgas streetcar!!

Thats badass David! I'm glad you got the thing figured out...I'd kill for your mph...You've got 10s written all over that thing...I still think there's more in the 60', but at 3800lbs thats pretty badass...What did you end up doing with tire pressure and shock settings?

Really good runs, too bad you couldn't get another run or two in. What fuel pressures were you using (low and high)? I believe I'm currently at 46 PSI with the vaccum line removed during the adjustment.

Also, with my 10.90 passes I had a 7.00 @ 97 MPH in the 1/8. So you are right there knocking on the door.

I left the tires at 11 psi, I made like 11-12 passes(I have them logged but the noteboke is in the car) I started with a clean slate.

1st pass fronts and rears on full loose, tires at 12=wheel hop(I got some loose fillings from that one)

I made one more pass like that with the tires at 11, still wheel hop but a little better.

Started tightening the rear shock compression 4 clicks at a time, better every pass. Then I tightened rebound 1/3 FROM full tight, over the course of about 5 passes....MUCH better, kept the tires at 11 psi.

WIth the rear compression on 9(3 clicks from full tight) I started to tighten the fronts...better still. Still keeping tires at 11 psi

I went full tight on the rears and 3 clicks from full loose on the front(9)

It started making consistent low 1.50 60 fts.

I found that this car on drag radials needs a GOOD! burnout, I was doing a soso burnout.

SO the setup ended like this:

Pinion angle -1

Fronts on 9(3 clicks from full loose)

Rears, full tight on compression, rebound 1/3 turn from full tight

Airbag empty, dont know why but it does not like the airbag even with 7 psi in it.

Tires on 11 psi

Leave rpm 1800/2000

I wanted to max stall the car and leave with it but....

I ran out of time, man I was pissed!

I ran all day at 42 psi with the hose off, as it was dynoed. Lowered it to 40 and it slowed down, raised it to 44 and it went to 11.02, raised to 46 and I had to load it up.

Good times, looks like our cars would make avery close race. It will go faster with a little more fuel in this kind of weather even thought the PCM corrects. I also think you need more air pressure in those M/T's. Now that you have it hooking, next time out try a pass @ 17psi, thats what I ran a 1.48 60' with with. Clint

Yeah, the DRs like more air when the suspension is working...When you go back out try the same set up with 18 psi..You want to find the threashold between hooking and a bit of spin....I started at 16 psi and went up to 18, 1/2 pound at a time...You have the right idea, keep a log of every change so you can go back and see what worked...

I'd bet that with more air in the DRs you may dip into the 1.4s...
