Also you may want to look into some more suspension mods, now torque arm, panhard bar, lower control arm, strut tower brace, and subframe connectors. Sorry for the doulbe post.

Do you do drag, autocross or what?

with 3000 you could easily pick up a LE2 package and then do some supporting suspension mods.

Agreed with both of these. Suspension is going to be [B][I]VERY[I][B]important, especially when you bump the power. I kinda found out the hard way this year how important it really is. An LE2 with the supporting mods is just plain hard to beat. I'm trying not to be too long winded here but there are a few guys here with LESS is More, ABA383 (ALAN) and James with the red Bird are good examples.

The LE2 is simple, affordable, yields good results and you don't have to make every major mod in the book to make it happen. If you're gonna yank the engine apart and bore/change pistons then I think even Lloyd himself would say go for the best heads you can afford and from his line that would be LE3's. I said change pistons b/c LE3's won't work with stockers (the valves are too big for the valve reliefs in the pistons)

Suspension wise, you already have good a tire it sounds like (M/T DR's) so you could benefit from some good lower control arms and LCA relo's. They would prolly get you by for a while until you could save the $$$$ for a torque arm. Also SFC'S, pretty self explanatory, there's no need in busting a good car apart b/c you're too cheap to tie the car together + the suspension can benefit from ridding chassis deflection.

I hope this helps.

FYI, my LE2 kit with the stock bottom end put down 403 RWHP. I like the driveability and sound of this car sooo much.

Also, I have some month old UMI red non-adjustable control arms for sale if you want them. 100 shipped.

With 157K on your stock block, your playing with fire big time. It won't harm your engine JUST because you swap, plenty of LT1 owners put that same h/c on the stock block. But with your mileage, it's definately a gamble. Be ready to rebuilt when it blows. But your other option is to hold off and buy a new block and build it up while it's outside of the car, then swap the whole thing in all at once and you know your set if you didn't cheap out on anything. I just put the LE2 kit on my stock block with 97K, and I'm still working on getting it started, but I look forward getting it done.

Yeah, my car had around 75K when the guy did the swap so with 145K I think you are going to be taking a gamble. Sorry I didn't realize you had that many miles on the car.

I'll have to take some more pics, I have some crappy pics of when they were on the car but I'll get some good ones tonight.
