best bottom end
best bottom end
im looking for a complete rotating assembly, a 383, im planning on going n/a but i want it to take a serious beating, does anyone make a kit like this? also what are common machine shop charges to clearance the block for the longer stroke crank? any links or anything would be great, thanks guys!
take a serious beating isnt the best description of what your looking for. Are you looking to rev it real high, hit it with a 300 shot, what exactly are you planning on here? Because what you setup the bottom end for is going to dictate what you can do with the motor. If your going to stay na and under 7000rpms your fine with non forged parts. They re going to be much lighter than a forged piece. Or go with forged pistons and rods and a cast crank. Save yourself 500, a crank is very unlikely to fail.
Machine costs are going to vary and depend on if a shop is going to do more than the next. I would find a place that has a good rep, machine work is something you want done right.
