Question Another Noob Question...

Hey guys,im new on here. Im looking to get a 94 Z28 Convertable with 104k on her. I want to know how reliable these cars are? What are some good basic mods? What gas mileage do they get? It looks to be in good shape. Drove fine. Seems kinda slow i dunno why? But the window and mirrors move very slowly, can i do anything ot make them faster? Where can i find a new arm rest for it to? What should i look out for? And what are the best sites to find aftermarket parts? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

well first, thats a pretty good milage for the year. if it is stock and well kept up with, it should be pretty reliable. on these cars, the optispark/distributor is known to go out sooner or later. also they are known for power window motor failure, which is probably why it moves so slow (first sign its going out soon). mine went out and we replaced it, just took the door apart and wasn't too bad. gas milage for an automatic could be from 15-20 and a standard from 20-25ish depending on highway and city ect. the lt1 from the factory usually ran around a good mid 14... so depending on it needing a good tune up or driver error it might be a mid 14 sec car (verts are heavier as well). good starting mods would definately be the intake and catback exhaust. they are pretty noticable mods and fairly easy installs (muffler shop for exhaust). arm rest could possibly be at a junk yard, for sale forum here, or even gm dealer. there are tons of websites on here, they could be found on the top of the homepage in the supporting vendor link. i would say look out for already being modified or signs on abuse on the car (mods = been raced).

sorry just kinda went back and forth through all the questions but they should basically be answered there for the most part, and welcome!

Hey guys, i'm sure someone else has heard of this, so they can confirm it if they have... A friend of mine had a 95 firebird formula and his window motor went out, He replaced it with the window motor from a corvette. I'm not sure what year vette it was from but he said the vette window motor is stronger. He said it wasn't bad to change them out. So that might be one thing to look into if you have to replace it anyway. Not sure on any cost difference either, hope that helps, Good Luck!
