I just finished putting a fresh 353 (60 miles on it currently) in my car from a machine shop. Mods are in the signature. I was driving around on the weekend, and sitting at idle waiting to turn, the motor just died. So I tried to start it up again, and it wouldn't idle. So I popped the hood and now its making a really weird sound and you can tell something is off. I dont expect this problem to be diagnosed with a crappy video, but I thought I should at least post a video before I take it back to the people who built it and get a rough idea of what it is. From what I can gather, the strange sound is resonating from the intake. Sorry about the shaky camera, I was just trying to get the camera to pick up the sound as best as possible.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Air is being sucked in after the MAF, which is leaning out your air/fuel mixture and giving the rough idle. Check and make sure all your hoses are on the intake. First thing I would check is the intake elbow, seems like that's where it was coming from.

 

Mine sounded a lot like that and it turned out to be my pcv vacuum line was all kinds of ****ed up and its right their,may not be it , but mine did act that way .

 

turns out I had a huge tear around the TB on the elbow. thanks for the help, now on to buying a vortec elbow
