WOT = BOG, let up = goes? HELP!
My car is described in my sig - a 7000 rpm screamer until today.
I just swapped out the stock t/b, elbow and MAF ends
A Holley 52mm, Trickflow elbow, billit ends with stock MAF
I put in a 9" rear, Wilwood brakes and other stuff too.
So the car starts and runs fine in garage. Throws the check engine light.
"TPS - low voltage"
only reading .2 - the stocker read .66
opened the plastic screw holes a little, rotated and got .50 - no light, runs great.
Test drive - my buddy drives and it fels good. He did not beat it like I do.
I'm really watching for the brakes and rearend on this drive - never tried a race like pass.
Today, I drive fast through the gear a few times - tachs up nice, like before.
Starts a little stumble at part throttle cruising - 2000-3000 and the tach fluctuates.
I drop a gear and put it to the floor - hard. Tach hits like 5 grand and it's flat - I let up the pedal a hair and the tach goes up and the car pulls again.
It does this for about 20 miles as I get chances to try... sort of like a misfire during cruising, dead stop = floor it = tachs up but hits around 5k then I have to let off to see the usual 6800rpm, shift and pull again. It won't idle at 800rpm like normal, I have to hold it or it even stalls.
I let the car sit. look at plug wires etc - everything looks ok.
After cooling, go for a quick ride and it feels better - tach up to redline and shift - but my foot was not mashed. It idled at a stop light. temp is up.
So I try again - mashed - same thing - bogs at WOT and takes off, revs up when I lift a hair. if I hold it up there it even feels like it's surging - I was at 5k and mashed it and it stayed flat until I let off a hair, then it revs and goes faster. Hard to tell because I'm on the street and out of room all the time. Still idles funny, even stalls. no check engine light ever.
WTF?
It has 30# injectors before and adj fuel pressure regulator.
Should I put the stock t/b back on before anything else?
Could it be time for an opti/plugs/wires?
Could the tune be off because the increased airflow from those items I swapped?
Should I increase fuel pressure a little?
It was a mailed out tune and I bought the car as it was.
What to try first - why a WOT bog and intermittent skip/misfire after the changes I made to the air intake?
this crap makes me miss Holley carbs and regular distributors

The fact that your car is having problems at WOT and you had to re-adjust your TPS seems to me to indicate that the TPS may indeed be the culprit.
Also, since you are now having idleing problems, check the IAC valve too. There is a procedure for checking the IAC on shoebox's web site.
Good Luck!

Check the butterflies in the TB.They are probably opening too far..Mine did and I had to make a throttle stop.I had to mess with mine to get it to idle right.Like adjust the idle screw, sand the edges of the butterlies so the arent rubbing on the housing, clean the IAC valve, lube the shaft. If I were to do it again,I would buy an AS&M.Dont know about the misfire.
