cam install now car won't rev w/video!!

So the car won't rev past 3500 rpm. It idles smooth as you can hear, under the hood is quiet, no ticking, so I know the valve lash is good (did just over half a turn for preload on 1.6R rollers w/poly locks). No vacuum leaks. I had the K&N off in the video, but with it on there is no noise.

What could the problem be? It seems like a fuel issue, the car won't go past a certain rpm. Or does it sound like the timing is off? I'm almost positive I had it perfect when I put the timing cover on. It wouldn't be a lot of work to pull it off and have a look, but I dont wanna pay 20 for another gasket set.

It sounds to me like you have the timing off one tooth. You could try to loosen the rockers first. Also check your fuel pressure...Let me know whats up...good luck.

That's what I'm thinking, I'm off a tooth. I'm going to pull the cover tomorrow to fix it.

When you set the gears, turn the engine over twice to recheck that they line back up.

What the fuel pressure? Have you had it tuned recently?

Your rockers may very well be too tight.

I was told that it would adjust to the mods, so I planned on getting my spare pcm tuned in a couple weeks. I have not checked the fuel pressure.

I did heads/cam/30# injectors.

I set the valve lash 3 times, quadruple checked for vac. leaks, and rechecked all the plug wires twice. I'm totally stumped.

I'm going to check the plug wires again tomorrow. I might pull the injectors too if I don't find a problem with the plugs. I bought the 30#'s used, so they could be faulty.

I'm guessing you changed the valve springs out when you did the cam too right?

Theres your problem right there. You need to have your computer tuned, it will not adjust on its own.

Well, I only did a half turn, if this is a half turn....

Is that correct? I marked the nut at 12 oclock when I reached zero lash, then i tightened it to 6 oclock. Is this correct, or is that not a half turn? I've never adjusted rockers until yesterday.

I know people who have bought cc306 cams and not changed anything else and it ran fine without a tune. I don't think that's the problem.

It should rev out w/o a tune.

Your lash is correct based on your description.

What happens if you actually try to drive it as opposed to just revving in the driveway. I can't really hear it very well in the video...

Try disconnecting your O2's.
