Biggest Bang for Buck

Hi everyone just bought a 96 z28 camaro convertible with 106,000 miles. The car seems pretty stock and in good condition. I'm wondering as far as a engine upgrade what gives me the most horsepower for the cheapest price? Or the most speed upgrade for the price. I'm not really good with cars so please let me know about the brands also thanks,
Mike

Cold air intake and catback are the places to start.
They'll not only provide nice gains, they'll also improve the return on future mod investments.

So, the throttle body bypass is good for 6 hp? Is there any downside to making that mod?

Nope, I've done it on both of my 4th gens and had no trouble.
(that includes many trips to Miami, Houston and Toronto over the last 7 years.

Get the basics done, intake and exhaust work. After that, if you want the best bang for the buck mod, maybe look into a nitrous setup.

Only if you drive in Alaska or other sub zero climates, they claim the TB blades will freeze up.

Like stated before, headers/exhaust,and a CAI. My car had a cat back on it when i bought it. But soon after i put headers,ORY and a CAI on it. With the butt dyno i could tell a improvment.
