No injector pulse
No injector pulse
I have transplanted a 96 LT4 into a 69 camaro. I running an aftermarket LT1 harness for a 95 camaro and a 95 camaro PCM ( I loaded a calibration from PCMFORLESS). The engine cranks, has spark, and has fuel pressure (fuel pump does run). The plugs are dry and I can not feel the injectors pulse. I assume th injectors are not pulsing. There is battery voltage at each of the pink wires for the injectors. There is continuity between each injector and the PCM.
This engine has not ran (again, assume it ran) in about 8 years. I was told the injectors would clean up once gas was present. Thought I would provide that piece of information.
Any suggestions is appreciated.
thanks,
Kevin

Use a set of "noid" lights to verify that the injectors are in fact getting the ground from the PCM to fire them. If they are getting a ground, but not spraying fuel, there's a good chance they are plugged up. Did you measure the resistance of each injector to verify the coil is still intact?
If the injectors are plugged, removing them and soaking them in solvent might be enough to open them up, but I would not trust injectors that have been sitting with fuel in them for 8 years. Even if they eventually flow fuel, its unlikely they will flow rated capacity or provided the correct spray pattern. They would need professional testing and cleaning.

I verified wiring going into the PCM is good and the PCM grounds. Also, the Opti.
Injuneer - Hope to have a noid light tomorrow to determine if the PCM is grounding. What should the ohms be for the injectors? I have 0.02 ohms. I didn't see this spec in a service manual just the spec's with the fuel linjector tester.
shoebox - good point. I will inquire to make sure it was done.

i'm in the same boat... i have no clue what it could be... i was told it is a bad ground... but i have yet to find one... i even tried another pcm and it did not work...
good luck and if you find your problem can u post what it was...

Put a noid light on. It lights up while cranking.
I guess I'm looking at new injectors. Any suggestions or advise, who is good and who to stay away from? Also, I believe the LT4's came with 28# (17124251). Getting those through GM is expensive vs. the aftermarket. Would going to 30# be ok? Any problems with the calibration, atleast to get the engine running to make sure nothing else is wrong?
Thanks for all the input.
