Lt1 no start... No injector pulse, no spark, multiple problems mayby?

I bought a 96 TA off a guy that put P/P heads, new opti, new wires, and new coil in and drove 91 miles then he went to start it one day and it sputterd and died. So I picked it up a few days ago knowing it would be a project... I open'd the hood and realized this guy did a not so great job.... I'm new to Lt1s, I've allways worked on gen I stuff. Helped my friend here and there with Lt1 stuff so I know a little. But this was bad lol. There was a MSD 6al box with a rat nest of wires and them little twisty wire connectors you use in your house wiring and medical tape lol. An MSD blaster 2 coil chilling on the intake. Like the old style one shaped like a redbull can. Plug wires in wimpy heat wrap laying allover the headers.

So I tore the MSD box coil and associated wiring out. Bought a coil from autozone, Autozone wires (will get better ones eventually), and put it all in (there were 2 badly burnt wires). So it don't start. Start testing stuff. No spark on any of the plugs or the coil wire and no ground pulse on the non pink/black injector wire (I don't have a NOID light). Took a spark plug out and it was dry after cranking it over.

The coil pigtail was missing and I've yet to find one localy so I'm using 2 small insulated female connectors slipped over the pins. Pink wire on the furthest right pin, green wire 2nd pin to the left.

So just now I went out and tested all the wires Harlan mentions in his No start diagnostic.

Unplugged optispark harness
-
red/black +
purple +
red +
pink/black _

coil (probed the wires while all coil and ICM wires still hooked up)
-
green grounded only when key off
pink + key on/ cranking

ICM (probed the wires while all coil and ICM wires still hooked up)

pink +
brown -
yellow -
green +

The coil wire had continuous power when i touch it with the test light.

Still no pulsing ground on the non pink/black injector wires.

So far the things I see wrong are...green coil wire is supposed to be a pulsing ground with the key on but its grounded only with the key off.
And the purple optispark wire is + and it should be - right?

So anyone got some insight on what I should check next? I've been trying to have this thing on the road "by tonight" for the last 3 days lol...

I would point to either the IGN module, Opti, or the wiring between the two, was the harness butchered.

The wiring harness seems intact other than missing the pigtail.

I was thinking the ICM to, but that wouldn't cause the injectors not to work would it?

Is there anyway to test whether the optical pickup in the opti is working or not other than the injector pulse?

The circuit for the injectors runs through the opti. and in a round about way the ign mod.

The opti gets a ref signal from the ECM and returns it. I don't have my T-shooting quide with me now, but Shoeboxs site has one.
