I would get a set of headers before or during a cam swap. Even the stock cam is choked by the crappy stock headers.

That would be a really poor choice.
a stock cam benifits greatly from a nice 2800+ stall 9.5" converter.
On the "home ported TB" all you accomplished was destroying the calibration which will make tuning harder.
As said above HEADERS are important.

Take it from me I did cam before headers and stall, was a mistake and the cam I used was MUCH smaller, once I gave it stall and headers it wokeup in a big way.

I just copied and pasted this and it will be my typical response from now on:

Take a second and read a little more. You're new so I'll help ya out.

Upgrade all your bolt ons before a cam. This includes but is not limited to:
lower control arms and relocation brackets
gears
higher stall converter/clutch
1.6 RR and new valvetrain
electric waterpump
headers and full exhaust
another custom tune (who did yours btw?)
better opti is also a great idea

Basically, just throwing a cam in won't make your car nearly as enjoyable as doing it right with all the supporting mods first.

I installed a 2800 stall on my stock camaro.. way back when.. lost .4 seconds because i couldn't get it to launch with street tires.. just kept spinning and when they didn't i would bog outa the hole. No way was i going to put a set of slicks on and blow out the rear-end which i'm 99% sure would have happened.

Thats why i said Headers first.... might as well free up the power you ALREADY have...

Cover the basics, get all the bolt-ons done first. No sense in using that kind of cam just to choke it with stock manifolds.

The 847 cam and a stock converter/rear gear is not a good combination, IMHO. My own choice for a street car would be a modest increase in the converter stall and 3.73's to complement the cam.
