There are 2 ways to get to the number 8 spark plug.

#1 - Drop the Y-pipe. Kind of a pain if the bolts are rusted on there real good

#2 - If you have kinda skinny arms, then you can pretty much wedge your hand past the exhaust manifolds and reach it that way.

You will have scrapes on your arm and your fingers will cramp many times , but eventually you can get to it. The hardest part is pulling off the spark plug wire boot.

And make sure you use di-electric grease on the spark plugs and boots! It will make it all the easier to get them off the next time

Remove the 2 starter bolts and move the starter aside.

Be ready to read the exhaust manifold serial number on your arm. That is one tight spot even if you have skinny arms.

Looks like ill have to drop the Y pipe, the boot as easy to get off, it "appears" the last owner of this car ignored changing the 2 hardest plugs, because they was all autolites but 1 (so far im asuming this last one is also some off brand)

I agree with twister, just unbolt and push the starter aside, slip on sparkplug socket, and slowly turn by wrench

yup pull starter bolts move to side! The plugs on these cars are extremly hard! I installed my transmission in less time than it took to do plugs!

nope, you heard right "wrench" If you can get a ratchet on there, good for you, I just did mine last month, this was how it was suggested to me, took about a half hour to replace (after pushing starter aside). Remember patience

Ok ill try a "wrench" tomarrow, no idea how im going to get a wrench to fit there, but ill try to go from under the car like you said.

Edit: word to the wise, if you try to use a ratchet, prepare for it NOT to work.

I've never cursed so much in my life today...

I had to change spark plugs TWICE.

I have pacesetter headers...8 took me about 2 minutes...now ask me about 5 though. I think I wanted to cry at one point. Especially the second time lol...

Today was NOT a good day.
