You can run them with stock pushrods. I just replaced my head gaskets and I was going to use the imp head gasket but I have heard mixed reviews. A reputable engine builder in my area also told me it wasn't a great idea since they were used designed for iron heads. I took his advice and went with stock fel pro replacement.

Do a search on the topic, there is a boat load of info.

the impy headgaskets work just fine with either aluminum or iron heads.

Victor Reinz 5898 is .026 for LT1. Either the Impala gasket at .029 or the Victor Reinz gaskets are fine. Apparently the Mr Gasket set has problems with the shrink wrap but I have never seen an actual package. If you use ARP studs or bolts, go with the stock torques, not the ARP torques.

Where did you get this from??? Torque is based on the bolt/stud material, not the head material or the gasket material. If you under torque the bolts you will not stretch them enough, and you wont get the proper clamping force. They could eventually come loose.

If it's a chair, sit in it. If it's a car, drive it. If it's pizza, eat it. If it's an ARP stud, torque the long bolts to 77, and the short ones to 65.
