whats data logging a car? and how
You have to have scanning software (ie scanmaster) and a cable which plugs into your data port from the PCM into a laptop. "Datalogging" then takes place after running the software which records values off your engine sensors into the computer where you can then pull them up after logging is complete.
I thought Scanmaster was a device that mounted in your car-not software for a laptop or PC?
wheeliftnpony, the availability of data logging software will depend on what year car you have. There is a computer/diagnostics forum here that would have more of this type of information in it. TTS Datamaster and Autotap are two popular programs for datalogging (dependent on what OBD type you have).
