LE1 heads with Gm847

I was thinking of going with this combo since I have the cam. Is anyone running this or would I be better off just spending the extra money and pick up the cam he dose with a set of his heads?

I'm sure you would benefit from em, but the springs he uses in the LE1 heads I don't think will handle that big of a cam.

True, the Crane springs can handle that lift but the GM847 is going to like a lot of RPM with ported heads so it depends on your car setup.... what gears, tranny and stall are you running around with? Where do you want your powerband to be?

I am running 3:73 gears 4l60E and no stall. I'm try ing to stay away from a stall if I can. But from what I have read that the 847 likes the high rpm's.

With heads and that grind of cam, I would definitely consider a stall down the road.

man a small stall like a 3000 is hardly noticably as for drivabilty...GET ONE before that cam or you will have a problem

Your car would be ALOT faster with a stock stall and a small cam compared to the 847/306 on a stock stall.

The reason I dont want a stall is as of now I only have the stock rear end. And I dont know if it will hold up with out the stall. I know it wont hold up with it.What would be a good shelf cam to go with that would work good with the LE1 heads??

Why not go with the LE1 cam?

Would like to might have to but as of now not in the budget. Might have to save more. I really dont want gobbs of hp. <-- sounds stupid I know. With that hp I dont know how the rear will hold up. Dont have $ 2500 for a 12 bolt.

Then you probably shouldn't be modding your car. Your tranny wont last long once you start modding...
