cam in a lt1 third gen

Ok I know this is getting old but I'm in the middel of a LT1 swap in a 92 rs.I have the hot cam I'm going to have a auto and a 9 in *ord w/ 370 gears,ported heads,bigger valves,1.6 rr Do I need a bigger cam? mabey the 503 or something else? I want it to be streetable too. THANKS

It depends on the goal of the car. Also rpm level you want to spin to, hp goals, E.T., etc. Either cam LT4 hot cam and 503 will be streetable with a good tune. If it were me I would slap the LT4 hot cam in there since you already have it. The only thing I would add is a vig2800 or a vig 3200 and sticky tires. Either way have fun with it, best of both words, third gen style with the LT1 punch.

yea kinda what I had in mind since I have it.But do I have to use that over priced gm timming chain? Or is there another that makes a doubble roller for the LT1?

just run the hot cam if thats whats in there, you will be happy for a couple years, it will be lots more HP then the car had originally

The double roller for the LT1 requires a 95 timing cover, vented opti and electric water pump, IIRC. It's made by Cloyes.
