Do a search, you will find more than enough information to answer you questions.

There is no performance value to deleting either, except for the small amount of weight reduction. MPG will generally not be affected. Emissions will be impacted some. Trouble codes may result, unless programmed out.

I've heard of mpg going down with the removal of the egr. I agree with everything else

I agree as well and my 94z28 not only passed the emission test for my year but the ones for later years as well. Also if the egr is not working or unhooked you get lots of kr and this really loses hp.
imo not worth doing.

Deleting the AIR and EGR will do little then clean up the engine bay and shed a few pounds.

Deleting the EGR is only a good idea if you have a cam. The reason the LT4's didn't have an EGR valve is because there was enough overlap (exhaust and intake valves open at the same time) that the engine had a natural EGR effect in the combustion chamber. Deleting the EGR on a stock car will cause a stumble at low RPM's. The AIR takes no power to run on our cars, its electric. It will be easier to change your plugs if you remove it, and it looks like **** with all those pipes runing around.

There's some potential for a bit of knock retard at low RPM/moderate load (e.g. - lugging the engine in too high a gear). That's when EGR is used. Other than that, knock retard is not an issue. EGR is not even used above 3,500rpm, or at WOT. On the other hand, there's not anything to be gained by deleting it, doesn't weigh very much, and there's not much clutter, since the components are behind or near the rear of the intake, under the cowl.
