NGK TR55 part# 3403, are they any good?
I found that when I ran the regular TR55's@.05 my car just fouled them out in a day or two. I switched plugs like 6 different times from TR5, TR55, and
TR6's but they all fouled out in no time. the 7th time which was a few months ago I went with an AC delco platinum CT43(i think) plug and they have ran great on my car but I think I need to change plugs again. I bought some tr55 platinums part #3403 since the last time I tried them the car ran like a raped ape but they didnt last. I figured that if i switch to the plat.'s they might work better than my Delco's. what do you guys think?
I saw another thread concerning the Delco's but I didnt want to hijack the thread.

Supposedly, the Delco plats (stockers) tend to lose their pucks long before the so-called 100K hype. The NGKs have been touted as the best to use in the LT1 so far. The TR55s, coppers are the cheapest and the best conductors, however, you might want to go with the NGK Plats or the Iradiums, which are supposed to last the longest.
If you don't mind changing them out, I'd go with the coppers---that way you get good conduction and you have an excuse to pull and check them more often. Let's face it, not that many people put loads of miles on these cars since they don't care much for wet, wintery road conditons.JMHO

I had similar problems with the tr55's I had installed after putting headers on the car. After a few months one of the plug's was arcing onto itself so loud I could hear it in the car, so I took it my mechanic and he said the plugs just weren't the right ones. Had a hard time believe that but whatever, he replaced them with some super platinum quad jobber and the car ran great for about week. Since then I have been trying to track down any other mishaps the car might have. What are the symptoms of fouled out spark plugs?
Super Quads? Perhaps you are referring to the Bosch Plus 4s. I have never heard anything but bad reports on the Bosch 4s for our cars.
I suggest using the correct heat range and gap for NA Lt1 which is the TR55 coppers or the plat or iradium version. If you still have problems with these plugs gapped at .050 (check them before you install them) then you better check out your system based on the conditions of the plugs and the performance. E.g., fouled plugs, carboned plugs, etc.
I use an MSD-A just to give me the assurance that the plug gets plenty of spark action. Probably overkill, but I am comfortable with the notion, that the more the spark, the better the combustion, the less chance of fouling.
Also, if hi miles, you might consider some new wires too.JMHO

Well my motors got about 750miles on it, but the only reason I dont drive the car much is because it seems like the car is acting up. when I had some plugs foul the car would surge and idle weird, but that day I put the TR55's the exhaust note was way smoother. power cam on really hard with minimal throttle, but now i've noticed that the car is losing some power and sputters momentarily when I leave a stop.
forged bottom end, around 11.7 static CR, LE2 cam, stock heads, and all the bolt-on's. only thing is im running stock injectors/fuel system with PCMforLess mailorder. Im going to address the fuel system soon, and going with the header O2 conversion.
And... just for the hell of it, if you use the coppers, you can file back the electode just to uncover the center electrode which is supposed to give your combustion much better access to the spark. Would not do it on the more expensive plats or iradiums since unshrouding the center electrode by the filing further reduces the longevity of the coppers.
Might be good for a fraction of HP though. JMHO
