Anyone ever use these before. They cost the same as the comp hi-tech pushrods and are made of the same chromemoly.

I see that they have swedged ends instead of ball tips. Is that going to work in a LT1 motor with Pro Mag RR and Crane lifters?

I don't need recommendations, just wondering if they'll work. Thanks.

 

I can't vouch for them, not familiar.
I would be worried about the tip, every pushrod I have ever seen on an lt1 is ball and our lifter are designed for that.
Even though you don't want recommendations, trickflows are pretty much the cheapest chromemoly you can get. Much cheaper than comps.

 

Thunder racing has heat treated chromoly ones for $110 vs comps $130...

 

Ok. Since I have to type this out. I found some Manley pushrods for $70!!!!!! I want to know if anyone has heard anything about them on a LT1 or LS1 motor since I'm pretty sure they're interchangeable. The gentleman over at Manley said they would work since the radius on the swedged tip was essentially the same at the ball tip pushrods and it's all one piece, not welded. Just looking for opinions here. Thanks.

Now I know you don't want to hear this, but one of the best things about this site is the wealth of experience. And having said this about that, I can only say that I'd sooner use what has been tried and true than to use something that is not as well known---unless the different item significantly improves the integrity or performance.

On the other hand if cost is a consideration, then some background work may be worthwhile---otherwise, I'd sooner save my time for those mods, though different than the norm, might possibly enhance the integrity and performance. JMHO

 

And...even though I know you know this---make sure the ones you are getting are the correct length. The only reason I am making an issue of this, is I dropped a couple of valves, ruined a couple of RRs and could have completely ruined my engine because I was using a PR that was too long.

Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

 

The Manley's are fine. I know a few people running them.

 

Thank you. I was also told that a company called Trend makes the pushrods for Manley, Comp Cams and a few others just to different specs and it's the same material as the Hi-Tech pushrods.

Eric, the only reason it sounded like that was because I wanted a specific answer to my question and not have the thread get off topic debating pushrods or anything else.

BUBBA, yes, I did use an adjustable pushrod to check the length. The intake was actually better with a 7.050 pushrod, but the 7.1 wasn't very far off and the exhaust was best with the 7.1, so I'm just going to buy a whole set of those. For anyone else doing a H/C, absolutely make sure you use an adjustable PR to check length. The stock ones were pretty far off.

 

We use the manley's interchangeably with comps all the time - good pushrods.
