starting issues
I just returned home from a year long deployment... so my camaro has been sitting in storage (my garage) the whole time. Well, now she does not want to start. It was fine before I left! I turn the key over and all I get is "clicking" I assume its the solenoid. I replaced the battery (red top optima), had autozone check the starter and they said its fine, I checked the alternator and that seems good. Im running out of options and dont want to spend the money for another mechanic to fix this. I think it has a short in the wiring somewhere, but Im not too familiar with the electrical on autos. Ive checked and cleaned all cables, ground and positive connections... any suggestions? Is there anything else I should be aware of? BTW, it will start up after a few minutes of jumping from another vehicle, but it wont start on its own. Thanks for the help!

Was the optima charged? Sounds like your typical dead battery, the clicking is the noid on the starter but not enough power to spin it.
If it jump starts it has to be power related. Our cars are notorious for not wanting to start right if even a little low on power.
