what to do first
what to do first
well i have a decission to make. i got the money to do 1 of 2 things. get a mail order tune or swap rr's and valvesprings(lt4). which would i be happier with performance wise with mod's in sig. sadly i dont have the cash to do both right now and would like to get one out of the way while im on christmas break.

Mail order tune.
Why?
Its cheaper
It takes two minutes to take out, two minutes to put the pcm back in.
Easy to do, if you can plug something into the wall, and unscrew the cap off your pop bottle, and throw something in the mail box, your good to go.

if you are going to upgrade more in the future i would go with the rocker arms. the tune would have to be changed later and that money would be lost unless you got a lt1 edit or tunercat program that you could change yourself as you got more mods
I would do the mail-order tune first as well due to cheaper cost, ease of installation, and the gains will probably be the same if not a little better. Not only will the tune add some power, but it will change several other characteristics of the car to make it run better. Plus, if you do rockers and springs in the future, you will not need a retune.
Assuming what makes you happier is more power and performance and not ease of installation and cost, I'd say 1.6 rocker arm hands down.
The LT1 stock tune is almost dead on for stock motors, like yours. It's only needed on more radical setups. Basiclly you don't need it unless it has a bigger cam.
When my Impala was stock it barely chriped the tires, when I put the 1.6 rr I was smoking the wheel.
A test was made with a 280 camed 350, where by just changing the intake rockers to 1.6, 26 hp at 6250 rpm were gained.

well when i dynoed it apperared that i was running lean(i think) on stock tune. I was thinking that a tune might help me more than most. idk though.
I voted to do the RR first. Something to think about though: If you plan on putting a cam in, it won't be able to be anything larger than the hotcam if you use the LT4 springs. If you want something larger eventually, get some better springs now. You only want to do those once. The beehives will be a good all-around spring that won't be too hard on your stock valvetrain.

those would be nice but i cant afford them right now, and i dont really plan on anything bigger than a hotcam untill way down the road like after college or later. i would like to get a hotcam in the next year or two. btw i already have the hook up on the rr's, so that helps the cost
