Burnt O2 passenger side connector

a while ago i burnt my passenger side o2 connector on the wiring harness side on my header. so since then ive been running no o2s and all was cool till i went to a differnt cam. anyhow the drivers side is fine i could get a regular 30.00 extension for it, but how do i go about correcting the passenger side. i was reading that you dont solder the o2 wires directly to the harness wires. well if i dont do that how do i setup the car to run the o2 sensor on the passneger side? The car is a 97. I was thinking to just solder the passenger o2s up the the harness and connect the drivers side with a 30.00 aftermarket extension. thanks in advance

why cant you solder where it burned through and then get an extension for that side as well? before you spend $30 for extensions, check ebay. i just now looked and there is one store on there that has them for $16.99. he has 6 available. i bought mine from him and they worked fine

problem is my plastic connector is all wrinkled up, id have no way to connect it to the extension or o2 sensor, unless you mean solder the wiring harness to the extension and then clip the new o2 and the extension together.

i dont see why you couldnt do that. cut your burnt connector off and solder the proper side of the extension in its place. it would be like just extending the wires instead of clipping in an extension. the ones i told you about on ebay are 18" i believe. more than enough to work with. i had to fold the passenger side over 3 times to get it to stop hanging

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/O2-Se...spagenameZWDVWim not too good with links but they are easy to find. type o2 sensor in the next to where it says all categories. when the next page opens you will see a section on the left that asks for make, model and years. type camaro in the model box and 1993-1997 in the from/to year and the o2 extensions will be the only auction the comes up. if that doesnt work let me know and i will try to link it. and make sure you click the show items button

The post is confusing.... are you talking about the pre-cat sensors, the after-cat sensors, or all the sensors?

You can buy a new "pigtail" for the harness and replace the melted connector.

From Shoebox:
