Head gasket leak

Last time I was doing a clutch/trans swamp I noticed at the rear of the passenger head near the firewall where the head attaches to the block (on the side of hte motor still not the back) there was some kind of seepage of something around that area. Is it possible that a head gasket would leak to the outside of the head? I always thought it wold leak into the cylinder. The car seems to run just fine. Any other ideas what this is? I can get pics up in a couple weeks as im at school right now.

that leak that you feel is from your intake manifold check behind the manifold to where it meets the block and you should find your source

yep, either way i dont think its anything to worry about as long as your not losing enough fluid to get low between maintenance

its deff something to worry about if you ignore the issue it will only get worse and you could be looking into some costly repairs

I highly doubt it's a head gasket leak. When you say "some kind of seepage of something" do you positively know it's coolant? If so check the banjo bolt which fastens the steam pipe to the back of the head. Check your heater core hoses as well.

I can't tell if its coolant or not, its one of those things where there is a spot where an oily substance used to be and the dust collected on it. A thing like that. Its not dripping. I thought it may be coolany since it seemed like it was coming from where the block meet the head. But I dunno, I guess it could be oil from the intake leaking around. Motors only got 30k on it. But it does have he typical leaks like timing chain. I guess it just say for a while so the gaskets shriveled.
